The start of a new school year is an exciting time, but for many families across Eastern North Carolina, it can also bring financial stress. At Wayne Hardee Law, we understand that challenge, and we are committed to doing our part to help students walk through their classroom doors confident, prepared, and ready to learn.
Spreading Supplies Across Eastern North Carolina
As the back to school season approached, our team hit the road to bring bookbags and smiles to as many students as possible. The Wayne Hardee Law Firm hosted its annual bookbag giveaway, distributing brand new backpacks filled with school supplies to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.
This year, we were proud to expand our reach across multiple counties, visiting schools and community locations throughout the region over two action packed days.
Burning Bush United Holy Church in Vanceboro, NC
We kicked off our two day tour at Burning Bush United Holy Church in Vanceboro. There is something truly special about partnering with a local church to reach families in the community. The congregation and surrounding neighborhood showed up with open arms, and we were grateful for the warm welcome as we started our giveaway journey.
South Creek Elementary School in Robersonville, NC
From Vanceboro, we made our way to South Creek Elementary School in Robersonville. We have a long history of serving the Martin County area, and it was wonderful to see familiar faces and build new connections. The turnout was great, and we loved every moment spent with the families of Robersonville.
Stocks Elementary in Tarboro, NC
We wrapped up day one with a visit to Stocks Elementary in Tarboro. It was a wonderful way to close out a busy afternoon. The community showed up in full force, and we were honored to serve so many deserving students and families before heading home to rest up for day two.
Day Two: August 4th
La Grange Elementary in Tarboro, NC
Day two started bright and early back in the Tarboro area at La Grange Elementary. Students and parents lined up with excitement, and the energy of the morning crowd gave our team a great boost to carry us through the rest of the day.
Spring Creek Elementary in Goldsboro, NC
After a great morning in Tarboro, we headed to Goldsboro to visit Spring Creek Elementary. The smiles on the faces of the students as they picked up their new backpacks made the drive well worth it. Wayne County always shows up for its students, and it showed.
New Bridge Middle School in Jacksonville, NC
We closed out our two day tour with a visit to New Bridge Middle School in Jacksonville. Making the trip to Onslow County to finish strong was the perfect way to end the giveaway. Middle school is such an important time in a young person’s life, and we were glad to provide these students with the supplies they need to succeed heading into the new school year.
The Impact on Families
At every stop along our tour, the response from families was overwhelmingly positive. Parents expressed their gratitude for the event, noting how much the donations help families in need. Hearing those words of appreciation fuels our passion to keep going and expand our efforts each year.
One backpack may seem like a small gesture, but to a child who did not have the supplies they needed, it can mean the world. It can mean the difference between starting the year feeling prepared and starting the year feeling behind. We never want any student in Eastern North Carolina to feel that way.
